Since the race was first inaugurated in 1999, it has gone from strength to strength in all respects and is now a significant event in the Milton Keynes sporting calendar.
Last year a record entry of over 1,600 runners helped to raise an incredible £48,000 towards making sure that more cries for help from children are answered.
The weather conditions were excellent for runners, volunteers and supporters alike
The overall Male winner was Ezekiel Chebon from Brackley & District with a time of (1:08:36), some 3 minutes outside the course record of (1:05:20) set 3 years ago. In second place was Paul Hasler with a time of (1:11:44) and in third place was Damian Carr (1:12:24).
The Female winner was Becks Penty from Highgate Harriers with a time of (1:22:40), about 11 minutes behind the course record time of (1:11:33) set by GB athlete Liz Yelling in 2008. In second place was Anna Hynes with a time of (1:24:58) followed by Samantha Amend (1:25:19).
The Team Challenge was won by Baker Tilly Allstars, just ahead of Milton Keynes Partnership in second and TLT LLP who were third. |
